Course Requirements Checklist

After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.

Discussions (4)

Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to create a thread in response to the provided topic for each discussion. Each thread must be at least 500 words, include at least 2 scholarly sources and 1 Scripture reference, and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 250 words and include at least 1 scholarly source to support the student’s response.

Self-Reflection Assignment

For this assignment, the student will give a reflection on how deficient planning (e.g. lack of stakeholder involvement, undefined scoping, unclear structuring, etc.) can obstruct scheduling. The student will develop a 100–150-word essay. The essay is intended to be a reflective, conversational post; therefore, a first-person voice is expected and no resources/citations are needed.

Project Management Plan Assignment

Using Microsoft Word, the student will create a Project Management Plan for construction, IT, higher education, city government, or healthcare-related project. The plan must include a project description; project scope, cost, and objectives; team roles and responsibilities; key stakeholders for the project; assumptions and constraints; a communication management plan; a risk management plan; and a change management plan. The Project Management Plan must be 8–10 pages and include a cover page and table of contents (not included in the page count).

Work Breakdown Structure Assignment

Using a hierarchical or mind map format, the student must provide a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) or Gantt chart for the Project Management Plan he/she developed. The WBS must be 1–2 pages and can be created in MS Excel, MS Word, or MS Project.

Quizzes (3)

Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the module: the week in which it is assigned. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 25 multiple-choice and true/false questions, and have a 50-minute time limit.
