Course Summary
This course introduces the student to the field of modern project management and the fundamental processes of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects. Students will learn the inputs and outputs and the tools and techniques of defining the project, estimating project times and costs, developing project plans, managing risk, scheduling resources, and their costs, reducing project duration, progress and performance measurement, evaluation, and project closure. (Previously BUSI 413)

Rationale
The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to a holistic and integrative view of project management as well as increase his/her knowledge regarding the role of project management and its tools and techniques. The successful completion of this course will prepare students to begin in-depth studies of the nine knowledge areas of the PMBOK.
Measurable Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Discuss the importance of Project Management, the project life cycle, and project management processes for a project.
- Define what is and is not included in a project.
- Identify the activities required to accomplish the timely completion of a project.
- Create a project model that reflects effective project management practices.
- Integrate biblical principles with key project management processes.

Total Discussions (4)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide an initial post in response to the provided prompt for each discussion. Each post must be at least 300 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the initial post, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ initial posts. Each reply must be at least 250 words. Each initial post and two replies must also reference at least 2 peer-reviewed sources and include 1 Biblical integration.
Integration of Faith Assignments (2)
The student will complete Integration of Faith assignments in the assigned modules. Each submission must be at least 500 words, include a current APA title page, and reference at least 2 peer-reviewed sources in the current APA format.
Project Assignments (2)
The student will complete projects for submission in the assigned modules. Each submission must be marked and organized in a Microsoft Word file. The student will complete these Project Assignments based off of a resource from the course text.
Total Quizzes (4)
Each quiz will cover the Learn material for the assigned Module(s): Week(s). Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 25 multiple-choice and true/false questions, and have a 1-hour time limit.
