Preparing for peer feedback is crucial to a mutually beneficial learning experience for the author and the reviewer. Therefore, the student will prepare a completed draft of the proposal paper to include a title page, abstract, introduction, background of the problem, statement of the problem, the purpose of the study, three research questions, the significance of the study, definition of terms, assumptions, and limitations. The paper must be between 8–10 pages of content, not including the title page, abstract, and bibliography. Peer-Review Discussion: Proposal Paper with PowerPoint Presentation: First Draft
The student will develop the proposal paper. The paper must be between 10–11 pages in length, not including the title page, abstract, and bibliography. The seven sections of the proposal must be included in this paper. The PowerPoint must coincide with the paper. The presentation should consist of a title and bibliography slide, and one slide for each of the seven sections of the proposal. Both documents should be uploaded to the discussion thread for Peer-Review. The student will consult the Turabian writing manual for formatting and writing style guidance. Receiving and creating feedback in a peer review is a valuable part of the learning and refining process in the development of the abstract, proposal, and first chapter. Therefore, the student will email their personal proposal paper to another student. Each student will complete one peer review and comment on the student’s paper according to the requirements in the instructions and rubric criteria. The reviewer will enter comments on the draft by using the “Review” function in Word. The student will also provide summary feedback at the end of the paper noting what the peer did well and what they need to improve on. Proposal Paper with PowerPoint Presentation: Second Draft Assignment
Building on the review feedback from peer reviews, the student will prepare a proposal paper to include a title page, abstract, introduction, background of the problem, statement of the problem, the purpose of the study, three research questions, the significance of the study, definition of terms, assumptions, limitations. This paper should correspond with the final version of the PowerPoint and “unpack” the bullet points. The paper should be between 12-15 pages in length. The student will consult the Turabian writing manual for formatting and writing style guidance. The paper will adhere to the current Turabian writing manual for formatting and writing style and must be submitted in a Word Document. The student will create a PowerPoint using Word, that systematically outlines the proposal bullet points with one slide that identifies the title, statement of the primary research question, the significance of the question, core concepts, working hypothesis, method, research plan, and bibliography. The paper will adhere to the Turabian writing manual for formatting and writing style and must be submitted in a Word Document.
