Course Description

The student will complete a capstone project developed through the concepts learned throughout the program allowing them to showcase their leadership skills and understanding of the structure and culture of an organization.

Rationale

The purpose of the capstone course is to guide the student in synthesizing and integrating his/her knowledge and understanding of Christian leadership and management into a final project. The course is to be taken in the final semester of the student’s program to allow for full incorporation of all prior coursework. The course allows fhe student to showcase his/her leadership and management skills.

Measurable Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  2. Develop a personal philosophy of leadership and statement of purpose.
  3. Display an understanding of practical aspects of leadership and organizational dynamics.

The student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each Module: The week in which a discussion is assigned. Each thread must be 250 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 150 words. Capstone Project: Thesis Statement and Outline Assignment

In this assignment, the student will begin to formulate an introduction to his/her paper that leads to a thesis that explores, assesses, evaluates, or argues a particular point. The student will create an outline based on his/her thesis for submission.

The thesis and outline are the first part of a 10–12-page research-based paper. The student must write in the current Turabian format that focuses on organizational planning. The paper will include a thesis statement and outline, a rough draft, and final submission. The final submission must include at least 10 scholarly, peer-reviewed sources in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible.  (MLOs: A, B, D, E)

Capstone Project: Rough Draft Assignment

In this assignment, the student will have received feedback from his/her professor on the thesis and outline and now will begin to write a rough draft. The rough draft is indeed “rough” but needs to begin to incorporate scholarly sources.

The student must write in the current Turabian format that focuses on organizational planning. The paper will include a thesis statement and outline, a rough draft, and final submission. The final submission must include at least 10 scholarly, peer-reviewed sources in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible. (MLOs: A, B, D, E)

Capstone Project: Final Submission Assignment

In this assignment, the student will revise the rough draft and prepare the paper for final submission.

Quiz: Organizational Leadership

The quiz will cover the readings in the Lencioni textbook for Modules 1 — 5: Weeks 1 — 5. The quiz will be open-book/open-notes, contain 50 multiple-choice and true/false questions, and have a 2-hour time limit. (MLOs: A, B, C, D, E)
