Having completed all required Micro-Projects for addressing the ministry problem, this course provides the doctoral student the platform for pulling the research of the projects together in a DMIN Portfolio and giving an oral defense of their work.
Measurable Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
A. Define the ministry problem in light of the ministry context.
B. Justify the choice of Micro-Projects in light of their total strategic significance.
C. Evaluate the implementation of the Micro-Projects and their synergetic strategic significance.
D. Foresee future research and ministry initiative opportunities in addressing the ministry problem.
E. Give a compelling and well-developed oral defense of the student’s doctoral work.
After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each Discussion. Each thread must be 200 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be 75 words. The student will write a 5-10 page chapter in the current Turabian format that focuses on describing ministry context, defining ministry problems, and justifying Micro-Projects, and utilizing the DMIN Portfolio Template. (MLOs: A, B)
The student will compile four chapters from their Culmination Assignments from DMIN 851-854 in current Turabian utilizing the DMIN Portfolio Template. Each chapter will be a minimum of 20 pages. (MLO: C)
The student will write a 10-20-page chapter in the current Turabian format, utilizing the DMIN Portfolio Template, that focuses on evaluating and assessing the efficacy of the Micro-Projects. (MLO: J)
Ththe e student will write a 5-10-page chapter in current Turabian format, utilizing the DMIN Portfolio Template, that focuses on discerning research and ministry opportunities beyond the implemented Micro-Projects. (MLO: D)
The student will set up a scheduled date/time with their professor to conduct an oral defense of their DMIN Portfolio. The oral defense will involve an oral presentation followed by a rigorous time of questioning and academic dialogue. This assignment will be the last major task the student will need to achieve to complete their doctoral studies. (MLOs: A, B, C, D, E)
The student will contact their professor and schedule the date and time for their Oral Defense that will take place in the latter half of the Term. Once the defense is successfully scheduled, the student will take a short Quiz indicating the event is scheduled. (MLO: E)
The student will apply for graduation and then take a brief quiz indicating that the task is complete. (MLO: E)
