Course Description
This course teaches the necessary areas of discipleship in a corporate-church setting. It further addresses the process of church multiplication. The course will also explore church health and growth in the early, middle, and mature years of a church’s existence.

Rationale
Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. Nothing is as beautiful or effective as a local church that is full of life, health, and vitality. God’s plan for creating healthy churches involves God-called, pastoral leaders who equip the saints to do the ministry. This course will provide the student with an understanding of the nature of healthy, growing, multiplying churches. It will also provide him/her with the needed mindset and skills to help a church realize health, growth, and multiplication.
Measurable Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Analyze issues relating to church health, church growth, church change, church multiplication, and ministry.
- Create a plan for a church to address issues such as church health, church growth, church change, church multiplication, and ministry.
- Assess him or herself as a spiritual leader.
- Develop a plan of ongoing personal development in the area of pastoral leadership.

There are 7 Discussions completed in this course. The student is required to post 1 thread of at least 400 words. The student must also post 2 replies of at least 200 words. For each thread, each student must support his/her assertions with at least 1 citation in the current Turabian format. Each reply must incorporate at least 1 citation. 4MAT Book Review Assignments (4)
The student will read the assigned chapters in the course textbooks and will submit a 6–8 page paper for each 4MAT Book Review assignment. There are 4 sections to the 4MAT Book Review format and each section will take 1-2 pages to complete in addition to an introduction and summary. (MLOs: A, B, C)
Ministry Application Project Assignment
The student will create and submit a 15–20 page project applying the content of this course to his/her present or future ministry situation. The project will include an appropriate rationale for the project, specific and realistic goals to be accomplished, persons responsible for accomplishing each goal, materials, and resources needed for each goal, and a timeline for completing each goal. The student must select a project that fits with his/her life situation or goals. (MLOs: A, B, C, D)
