Course Assignment
After reading the Course Syllabus and Student Expectations, the student will complete the related checklist found in the Course Overview.
Students must submit a 2–3 minute video introduction. Students may use a multi-media platform of choice to record their videos. However, Kaltura is recommended. Specific elements stated within the discussion prompt must be included. This will be a graded assignment. Students must also reply to at least 2 classmates’ introductions. Each reply must contain at least 150 words, including a question or a relevant follow-up response to guide the discussion.
The Flight Affiliate Handbook provides essential information for the successful completion of your flight training program and requirements. This quiz will ask you to acknowledge that you have read the FTA Handbook provided to you via the FTA Welcome Letter as well as any information provided to you on the Liberty University Flight Training Affiliate Program website. (MLO: A, B)
The student must complete various Discussions in this course. Each student will post an initial thread of 400-500 words of the assigned Module: Week for each Discussion. In addition, the student must then post 2 replies of 250 words. These are intended to be scholarly dialogues and for each thread, the student must support his/her assertions with proper scholarly support in APA format with sources listed as References at the end of the post. (MLO: A, B, C, D)
As the student progresses through Flight Training Syllabus at their Flight Training Affiliate, the student must stay on pace to complete the course requirements before the end of the term. To help the student stay fully aware of their progress and to keep the professor informed, the student will submit a Flight Course Log Quiz. This is the student’s opportunity to keep a journal of their flight training experience and it will serve as a means for the professor to understand how things are going in flight training.
The purpose of this assignment is to prepare a Flight Lesson Plan and a visual and audio lesson presentation regarding a student-created flight lesson plan to include applicable references from this course. As a Mutli-Engine Instructor, the future of Aviation is in your hands. Providing a clear lesson is crucial for knowledge attainment and skill performance. The following are required elements of the Flight Lesson Presentation:
- Lesson Plan Template: You are to use the provided “Lesson Plan Template” and create a thorough flight lesson that you would present to your student. The lesson must be over a flight topic that a multi-engine instructor would need to teach a flight student.
- PowerPoint Presentation: You will then create a PowerPoint presentation to “teach” the flight knowledge, concepts, and skills that you will use as you visually teach the lesson to the flight student. Be sure to use images that will assist in relaying practical real-world skills.
- Prepare a video of you teaching the lesson you have prepared. This student can be sitting right beside you in the video as you teach or you can “pretend” the student is in the video.
Once your professor watches the lesson, they should fully understand and apply the knowledge and skills you have taught. (MLO: A, B, C, D)
As the student progresses through their Flight Training Syllabus at their Flight Training Affiliate, the student must stay on pace to complete the “Percent of TCO” requirement before the end of the course. To help the student stay fully aware of their progress and to keep the professor informed, the student will upload the “Percent of TCO Form” verifying “percent of TCO” progress during the midterm and final week of the course. This form will provide crucial information exchanged between all stakeholders (professor, student, and flight instructor/ FTA).
To pass this class, the student must complete their Multi-Engine Instructor training at an approved Flight Training Affiliate (FTA). Once complete, the student must submit BOTH of the following: Part 141 Graduation Certificate, Either a copy of the FAA Certificate (front and back) or a Temporary FAA Certificate if applicable. (MLO: C, D)
The purpose of these quizzes is to prepare you for instruction. Each quiz will cover material from the Flight Instructor Practical Test Standards for Airplane (PTS) Section 2 not by the assigned Module: Week readings. Questions can come from any aspect of the Flight Instructor Practical Test Standards for Airplane (PTS) Section 2. Each quiz will be open-book/open-notes and contain various multiple-choice questions. These quizzes may be taken up to 5 times with unlimited minutes. The highest score will be recorded. (MLO: A)
