Multiple determinants of health such as economic, environmental, biological and cultural are addressed with an emphasis on the health needs of lesser economically developed nations.

Discussions (3)

The student is required to create a thread in response to the provided prompt for each Discussion. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 classmates’ threads. Threads must be at least 400 words and cite at least one scholarly source published in the last five years in AMA format. Replies must be at least 150 words each.

Case Study Review Assignment

The student will review the major points of a case study and write a review of it providing suggestions to address the problem in it. The Case Study Review Assignment must be 450-600 words and include a citation of at least 1 peer-reviewed article in addition to the citation of the assigned case study. All citations must be in current AMA formatting.

Case Study Review PowerPoint Presentation Assignment

The student will review the major points of a case study and create a PowerPoint presentation providing suggestions to address the problem in the case study. This assignment must be 15-20 power point slides in current AMA format and contain 25-30 minutes of voice narration. The presentation must cite at least 1 peer-reviewed article source in addition to the assigned article or case study.

Short Essay Assignments (2)

The student is required to respond to a topic provided by the course instructor. The short essay must be 200-250 words and cite at least 1 peer-reviewed reference, as well as the text, in current AMA format.

Research Paper Assignment

Topic Submission

The student will write a one sentence topic statement concerning his/her Research Paper. The student must provide 1 reference to validate the statement. The topic selection will be submitted to the instructor for approval.

Outline

The student will create a detailed outline for the Final Version of the Research Paper. The outline must be 1-2 pages and arranged in alphanumeric format.

References

The student will research at least 10 scholarly resources that are no more than 5 years old. The student will cite the resources in current AMA format.

Final Version

The student will write a 10–12 page research-based paper on the chosen topic. The paper must cite at least 10 scholarly references in addition to the course textbooks and the Bible in current AMA format.

Quiz: Midterm

This quiz covers information from Module 1: Week 1 – Module 4: Week 4. Quiz: Midterm will be open-book/open-notes, contain 50 multiple-choice and true/false questions, and have a time limit of 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Quiz: Final

This quiz covers information from Module 5: Week 5 – Module 8: Week 8. The Quiz: Final will be open-book/open-notes, contain 50 multiple-choice and true/false questions, and have a time limit of 1 hour and 45 minutes.
