Learners examine theological themes and biblical assumptions that directly impact one’s philosophy and practice of leadership. You will complete 4 discussions in this course. The discussions are utilized as a way to interact with the resources in the course, your professor, and your classmates. The discussions will be a way for students to apply their understanding of the principles being covered to their real-world experiences and wrestle through the concepts throughout the course.
The initial post is required to be between 300-400 words. Each week students are to provide 2 replies of 200-250 words each. Where appropriate in both the thread and replies, major points are supported by lecture material, Scripture, examples, and/or thoughtful analysis.

The student will present a proposal for the Biblical Theology Paper that identifies the specific topic of the paper, a suggested thesis statement for the paper, and at least 10 sources for the paper. Sources include a combination of academic biblical commentaries, theological reference material, and leadership materials. Biblical Theology Paper: Annotated Bibliography Assignment
The student will complete an Annotated Bibliography with at least 20 sources, including at least 5 articles, for the Biblical Theology Paper. The annotations must demonstrate how the resources are likely to be important to a biblical/theological analysis of your topic or the application of the doctrine to one’s leadership. Each annotation must be 150–200 words, academic or peer-reviewed, and in current APA format. (MLO: A, B, C, D)
Book Review Assignment
The student will write a 4–6-page book critique in the current APA format on the textbook Desiring the Kingdom. (MLO: B, C, D)
Biblical Theology Paper: Final Draft Assignment
The student will write a 12–15-page research-based paper in the current APA format that focuses on the biblical and theological foundation of leadership. The paper must include at least 20 scholarly, peer-reviewed, or academic sources. (MLO: A, B, C, D)
Reflection on Course Assignment
The student will write a 3–5-page reflection essay in the current APA format. The essay will answer the question:
“How has this course shaped your thinking in the following 3 areas related to the profile of a servant leader, which is identified by Howell: 1) proven character, 2) doxological motive, and 3) divine agenda?” (MLO: B, C, D)
