Students learn to think theologically about issues, and concepts drawn from the discipline of leadership.

For information regarding the prerequisites for this course, please refer to the Academic Course Catalog.

Rationale

Too often leadership has been viewed as either a set of personality traits or an innate power held by a select few. Conversely, Christian leadership is rooted in a biblical and theological acknowledgment that the ability and responsibility to lead others is a direct stewardship from God. As such, an individual’s position of leadership should be used to willingly advance God’s purposes within the life of the leader, those being led, and the organization itself.

Measurable Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Trace and analyze key leadership themes throughout the Scriptures.
  2. Evaluate current leadership trends from a biblical and theological foundation.
  3. Develop a theology of leadership that is grounded in a biblical worldview.
  4. Evaluate personal leadership assumptions and experience from a biblical perspective.
