Discussions (4)
Discussions are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to post 4 original threads as directed throughout the course. The student is encouraged to reply to peers as relevant, but this is not required.
Publication Project Assignment
The student will find 10 academic, history journals/sources and summarize the rules for publishing in these academic journals. The student should include at least 5 of the 10 that allow for a doctoral student publication.
Book Synopsis Assignment
After reading the assigned chapters in the course textbook, the student will complete this assignment in two parts: Chapter Annotation and Historical Methodology.
Networking Reflection Assignment
The student will identify, attend, and reflect on 1 historical networking opportunity throughout the course of the internship class. The locations for these can vary and will often include regional or national historical society meetings. Special exceptions must be approved by the instructor.
Internship Log Assignment
The student will log at least 150 hours in service to his or her intern location/organization.
Supervisor’s Evaluation Assignment
The student will provide his or her supervisor with a template for his or her evaluation during the course of his or her internship. This evaluation will then be provided to the instructor for the student’s grade/evaluation.
